#168586 54 Mon Oct 3 13:40:38 1994 Lab Rat @ The Laboratory, Seattle
Ru > (just to be difficult, rue is to regret yes?) because I hate hi messages in general. they are a total waste of netspace and when a room gets swamped with fifty of them and the real conversation is lost in the mess I get really pissed. because I am efficient. hi messages don't communicate anything, they are even less-useful than a net-ping. because I don't know why. I just don't like them.

<sighs, yawns> Topic? I was just trying to get people to stop hi'ing and ping'ing me, but now that I brought it up again people will no doubt resume such activities, thereby pissing me off, quite. But as for what I'm doing in seattle: NOTHING! I'm spending most of my time in pine, and the rest in ncftp netsurfing for linux stuff. I plan to become a linux expert by installing linux, from scratch, onto my system without using any of the precompiled releases. Because, having already installed the Slackware release, I don't know what most of the crap on my hd is or what I'm supposed to do with it, so... Now to find a good comprehensive manual on unix sysadmining and I'll be set. That and to figure out how to make PPP go (it's built into the kernel these days, rad!) But as for the showing-up-late thing, it's not my fault. The phone daemon said the bus left at 17:00 and instead it left at 16:30, and guess who was ten minutes late. shit. So I caught the 21:00 instead.

Well maybe you can get up here for the next one Lab Rat. I know that several people were upset that they had missed you. I think that maybe you should talk to a live person instead of a recording next time. Then if you miss the bus you can beat the crap out of them for giving you the wrong info. After kicking there butts I picked up a sweet little cutie from Pluto and had ice cream with her at 31flavors.. Later we did some Nuclear testing in Arizona and watched cows glow in the dark.. and after that I went home and went to bed.... Gosh I wish there was something exciting to do now days...

aarg! I remember when life got "interesting" there was a changeover-period in late `74/early `75 that was a wigglin' thrash that left most onlookers just goin' "wow!", before the settledown occured into a life that some people see as a fantasy but it wasn't all jizz and roses, as SylviaLouise put it... hardly boring, and very energizing, to say the least and a lot less stupid and go-nowhere as I feel "today" is it all gives me an idea of what the next life should be like, too maybe there will even be room in it to Cit-around some people are gonna groan about that one tuff shit...

BW--go ahead and try it. I'll make sure you have a nice funeral. Lab Rat, the last time I did my "sysoply duty" and checked the netted teen rooms, it was glaringly obvious that the Oly twits are still transmitting...

that's for sure.....

Oh... Well, I'm not receiving the teen rooms, along with many other rooms I've killed lately. because I suddenly realized that for a vanity node it is really pointless to carry rooms you never read. I really should have killed them on the Lab in b'ham too but hey, sometimes I just don't have the heart... ;> but as for nontopicdriftbabble in most of the rooms, bellingham seems to be a major, shall we say, supplier for such fasion accessories...

So...make up your mind, keed... You want a lack of topic drift? I think the only central topic I've seen around here is "what topic is there in here?" -- with assorted brief diversions... <shrug> It's your room; you pick the topic if you don't like the guesses. Diversion to topic of vanity node: I've found myself unable to kill rooms here that bore the spit out of me... I keep reading them and hoping they'll make sense. Silly sysop...

what is the topic in a room named The Laboratory? I guess we could talk about the time I tried to blow up the Empire State Building with my Chemistry set that I got from Radio Shack.....

I believe I specified that it was the nontopicdriftbabble that was unfun. The stuff that couldn't even be remotely related to any kind of drift, much less topic, the stuff that has and is no topic. but then I have a headache and am using a burnt-out soul at the moment so my judgement may be poor.

Bw! =)

There doesn't have to be a topic in a room called the laboratory. there doesn't have to be any messages here either. the whole point of this room was to talk about a board that is now dead and also to get in contact with me about stuff that many people might want to discuss. and since neither of those things are happening there doesn't have to be any traffic in this room at all. because then I don't have to read through pages of stuff looking for something that applies to me. it's just a convenience thing I guess. now if only I could get the damn cursor to follow along with my writing...

poor Lab Rat -- sold his soul to the great god of college and got it back a burnt out shell of what is once was. {{lr}} tell us what to talk about, and as soon as someone else doesn't distract us, we will. we're just all so talkative, ya no... so lively... you used to like it... but then -- you used to be one of us. where ya now? <<sigh>> wanna topic -- name one. shit, we'll talk about the Balklands if ya want. for a while. juss let us all no...

Eeep! Zookie's been talking to JayDee too much! Sheesh, folks. He's looking for topicdriftbabble, not nontopicdriftbabble... Humor him. It _is_ his room. :)
