Tell it to the Donner party...

Is it illegal to eat dead people? If you didn't murder them?
#2446 50 Fri Dec 20 10:27:31 1991 [Everbody knows the] Blade Runner [dice are loaded, everbody...]
Hmmm, weird question. I don't know...
#2459 50 Fri Dec 20 13:00:57 1991 [Naturally speak...] Lightning [Please blonde slowly...]
I don't think it's illegal... It's illegal to KILL them, though...
#2473 50 Fri Dec 20 14:53:55 1991 [Wow it's] bill [Who cares?]
Did you have them killed for you or are they just road kill?
#2479 50 Fri Dec 20 15:03:21 1991 [Everbody knows the] Blade Runner [dice are loaded, everbody...]
I think he's referring to it in a 'road kill' sense...

Chris> responding to a message about 50 posts ago: The reason I'm always complaining about my IIgs is I plan to go into computer science as a carrer and I've outgrown my current system (ie I can't print half my documents adn the other half require major tweeking of the system softwaer, also there arn't alot of colleges that consider AppleSoft BASIC a seriour programing language. I bopught a pascal package and the instruction maunal that came with the program dosen't work (the 3 line hello program they give you won't work. there are at least 3 bugs per line and that's the begining of the course.) Any computer/terminal will work for modeming, color is a luxuary not a nesscity.

Thats why i copmplain about my computer, I've out-grown it... I have it doing ABSOUTLY everything it can do. I need something like a 286 or better a 386, Something that has protected mode..
#2625 50 Sat Dec 21 12:20:05 1991 Isis
We ARE getting a 486...gateway is replacing our 386 (it keeps having little probs.) with a 486 at a small cost...don't know exactly what that cost is, but it's little enough that we don't need to worry about it...it'll have something like a 360 or 380 megabit hard drive...
#2661 50 Sat Dec 21 14:49:06 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
GEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZ... (megaBYTE you mean...)
#2665 50 Sat Dec 21 14:56:36 1991 [Naturally speak...] Lightning [Please blonde slowly...]
Probably... Hmmm... Audin correcting someone's spelling? This is a first...
#2689 50 Sat Dec 21 15:27:50 1991 [Feel such peace] Roya [and absolute...]
no, i think it's a second.
#2693 50 Sat Dec 21 15:58:08 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
Actually, I'm only correcting the term..
#2741 50 Sat Dec 21 22:48:40 1991 [Wow it's] bill [Who cares?]
Audin's right to correct when it changes the entire meaning. If they are giving you a 486-xx w/ 360meg hard drive for nominal cost over the 386-xx which you are returning, they are nuts.
#2760 50 Sat Dec 21 23:42:32 1991 [A View] Spur [So Cruel]
is your grandma taking care of the cost, isis?
#2798 50 Sun Dec 22 02:36:33 1991 [where's] deadman [deadspur?]
and would she like to take care of me?
#2830 50 Sun Dec 22 10:47:52 1991 [Naturally speak...] Lightning [Please blonde slowly...]
I'm sure...
#2889 50 Sun Dec 22 12:09:51 1991 [And you can all suck my dick] bill [Taking turns of course.]
I'm sure she would be quite happy to.
#2976 50 Sun Dec 22 17:10:40 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
A bit is 8 times smaller than a byte. 8 bit's make up a byte(or, one charicter.)
#2994 50 Sun Dec 22 19:16:31 1991 Spur [burn BM productions]
a bit is just like one digit or something, isn't it?
#3003 50 Sun Dec 22 19:32:03 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
A bit can be eather 1 or 0, one being on, and 0 being off... 8 bit's make up a byte, which is one charicter. (I.e. one letter, number, any charicter.)
#3004 50 Sun Dec 22 19:35:56 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
Hay, i just realized something.. The 8088 cpu has a mlti-plexed 8-bit data bus... So, it can only transmit one charicter at a time... Geez... Thats what thay mean by searal prosessor... what good dose it do to have a 16-bit cpu... with a slow 8-bit data bus... weird...
#3026 50 Sun Dec 22 20:29:49 1991 Spur [burn BM productions]
so what the fuck are 16 bit graphics?
#3045 50 Sun Dec 22 21:07:32 1991 [Naturally speak...] Lightning [Please blonde slowly...]
I think it means that a character is more defined because it has an extra 8 bits defining it...
#3146 50 Mon Dec 23 07:13:49 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
I beleave 16-bit graphics are just faster than 8-bit, sence with 16 bit, you can send twice as much data to the video card at once. You might also be able to get more colors and shit becouse you have an extra 8 bits to work with... There are only so many combinations of 00001111...
#3214 50 Mon Dec 23 11:45:19 1991 [A petri dish] Escherichia [would be nice...]
wow, another Fur Sale.
#3278 50 Mon Dec 23 16:16:55 1991 Spur [burn BMI productions]
Is there any way you can get 16 bit graphics for a mac or IBM or tandy or something like that?
#3287 50 Mon Dec 23 17:04:45 1991 [And you can all suck my dick] bill [Taking turns of course.]
16bit graphics could mean two different things. On PC's it means first of that the bus is transfering data 16bits at a time and not 8bits. Obviously you can't do that with an XT. The second meaning is that you are defining the colors on the screen with 16bits (64K possible colors) and not the 8bits you would normally use (for 256 colors). The graphic standard in this area is 24bit color. Some systems have 32bits with 24bits defining the colors (16.3 million colors at once) and the other 8bits left over for graphic information that I would be hard pressed to explain. The Mac's 32bit Quickdraw is sorta both of the meanings. You would have 32bits per pixel and you would be transfering data at 32bit swaths. Kinda hip.
#3299 50 Mon Dec 23 18:11:46 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
Hmm, coulden't you actually get 16-bit graphics on an XT by de-multiplexing it?
#3376 50 Mon Dec 23 21:56:35 1991 Spur [the God]
So what's it mean on all those video game commercials?
#3510 50 Tue Dec 24 11:18:11 1991 [Everbody knows the] Blade Runner [dice are loaded, everbody...]
who knows, who cares... Ughhh!! A computer is better anyway...
#3665 50 Tue Dec 24 20:50:24 1991 [If I where Human,I beleave my] Captain James T Kirk [responce would be".Goto Hell"]
No kidding. I mean, Ooooo.... 16 WHOLE bits... I have a 16 bit computer... A 386 is 32 bits... brother...
#3673 50 Tue Dec 24 21:07:38 1991 [That's really sweet of you,] bill [but I said I was Gaelic.....]
The video games are talking about a 16bit CPU. I see no point and would just get a real computer. Then you'd have free games to play and new games for almost forever. With the video games you have to worry that Nintendo will come out with a new one that isn't compatible with the old ones.... But, as I always say: "Whatever wanks your plank"
#3674 50 Tue Dec 24 21:08:23 1991 [That's really sweet of you,] bill [but I said I was Gaelic.....]
