So how many people calling here are pilots? every fly? like aviation?
Captain James T Kirk
I'm not a pilot... but, I've flown a Cessna, and a Sterman... I love avation..
Lightning
Me, too... We've talked about it, Blade...
Todd Montgomery: Mr. Sulu
I am, for real. I fly little sailplanes in Ephrata, and yes, alone. Anyone else REALLY fly? I mean, Audin, uh, Spock, FLYING IN A CESSNA is different then FLYING A CESSNA. I mean you didn't land, or learn anything you probably just did a few turns.
Captain James T Kirk
I did fly it, i didn't land it, but, I was in controle.

REALLY fly?? Me??Just a wee bit. I'm a commercial pilot/Flight instructor and am currently doing part time flying for a private individual. Yes Audin, I think you really did fly. You don't have to land, take-off, perform spins, cross-wind landings or fly to Europe in a single engine airplane to get the feeling of flying, to really experience what it's like to fly. I love to see people fly, no matter how extensive their flying is. I feel like it promotes aviation for everyone, and it needs all the help it can get what with the media's depiction of flying........ Sailplanes huh, that's something I haven't had time to do yet. I'd like to try it just for the fun of it. Where did you fly out of in Ephrata?? Do you have a sailplane license?
Todd Montgomery: Mr. Sulu
good for you. I have a solo license so far, but am working on a license.
Audin> Who the hell is Keith?
Audin> Sure you flew it, but nothing special..
Blade Runner
Good luck with your license!! I don't agree with the comment to Audin though. It's always special for a person if the experience is enjoyable. If it changes their opinion of aviation for the better it's special. The flight instructor in me is always trying to encourage people and promote aviation, saying 'it's nothing special' doesn't help the person or aviation. I could say the same thing about a solo student, as a 26,000 hour, 30 year vetran who's flown almost all types of aircraft could say about me or anyone, but that doesn't encourage things... you already know something about flying, encourage other people, get more people involved. It's better for all of us.
Todd Montgomery: Mr. Sulu
It's just not like he was taking lessons or anything... But, I do agree with aviation being promoted. Do you work at Olympia airport?

Go away KeithCliff

I've played Jet on my Apple II, does that count for anything?
Blade Runner
No, I'm trying to get a job a Tacoma Narrows. They're alot busier up there and I can use the money. Yea Scorp, sure, Jet on your Apple II can count.... although for what I'm not sure... :)
Scorpion
It's always fun to sit down and taxi a F-18 on water (really low budget program, even heading straight down at mach 2, it's still impossible to crash.)
