Hay, Steve, could you net this with SFA? (sorry about all the little one room requests, but, i keep finding little rooms that i would like to, and could net without scrooling my message base.
#1078 53 Thu Jan 30 22:24:07 1992 [sysop] Steve Baxter [206-786-9248] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
You got it, Cap'n. Let's net some groups, too. What groups do you have to match my local, sysop, and consop (citadel console sysop) groups?
#1079 53 Fri Jan 31 01:31:56 1992 [Help save our country] stderr [DON'T buy government bonds!] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248

Well, I have a Sysop group, it has the sysop net rooms in it. (I do keep normal users out...) The local group is already set up, I get local messages, I don't have a Consop... I could make one though, what do you use that group for?
#1081 53 Fri Jan 31 14:51:53 1992 [Clear the roads...] Captain James T Kirk [Audin's in trafic safty...] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
And, i need to get a Gay/... and Sysop Assoc room... I haven't gotten around to re-making those after the "NightCit screwup".
#1082 53 Fri Jan 31 15:34:42 1992 [Eat me, I'm...] tuna [...and I taste good!] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
Steve, could I get a copy of your msg.dat and etc.dat files...I'm trying to put up a DragCit, and I keep getting the message: etc.dat and msg.dat files not found. If you know what is going wrong, could you maybe even give me a call at:943-2163...I'd really appreciate it!
#1083 53 Fri Jan 31 23:49:00 1992 [sysop] Steve Baxter [206-786-9248] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
Citadels create etc.dat when they shut down. It's a file that contains parameters so the Citadel won't have to configure itself. When Citadel starts for the first time the file is missing. So Citadel completely configures itself. This is normal startup procedure. Citadel will create and initialize the msg.dat and configure and then the board will come up. You don't need my files. Citadel will create them.
#1084 53 Sun Feb 2 17:09:36 1992 [Help save our country] stderr [DON'T buy government bonds!] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
Of course it still might now work. I know it doesn't for me. I figured out that you need to delete the etc.dat file or use one of the commandline switchs if you make certain changes in the CONFIG.CIT file.
#1085 53 Sun Feb 2 17:29:57 1992 [Eat me, I'm...] tuna [...and I taste good!] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
really? THAT may be my problem...I'll take a look!

Yea, deleating the etc.dat will make it read the config.cit, and other *.cit files... Or running Ctdl with the -c peramiter will make it read config.cit too...
#1087 53 Sun Feb 2 18:35:18 1992 [Help save our country] stderr [DON'T buy government bonds!] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
I think that point was made in the short new docs that steve added. People in the know really need to put a little more into the docs for Dragcit..... I'd like to get it so I could compile and change Dragcit but first I just need to get it to run as is....
#1088 53 Sun Feb 2 18:55:26 1992 [Clear the roads...] Captain James T Kirk [Audin's in trafic safty...] @ Columbia Crest BBS, Olympia, US 206 786 9248
Yea, the one thing DCit needs is docs... The setup.doc is pretty pathetic... Hmm... maybe i should write some...

Go into the Help dir with a TEXT editer, and edit every blb file.... Thats where all the little blurbs are, like the hello message, chat message, bulliten, there all there. They all have to be in Ascii. Okay, bill, bring a computer over... and i'll make it work...

Yea, for a while i used 50... but, I needed to scrounge ram, so, i took it down to 25, and cut the buffers to 10... I have my mouse driver loded at all times, so, i have to make up a little for the 12k that hogs...

No, it's just a regular searal mouse... I ,don't exactly LOVE using it, but, it helps alot for Norton Utilies, some games, and my dos menu thingy i use for un-deleating, and killing lots of files... other than that, the mousee just sits there... in the way...

I either load it from the commandline or put a '?' before it in the Config.sys and choose on bootup (DR DOS). Of course Windows and OS/2 have their own mouse drivers.

QEMM. It loads everything high that it can even with the VGA card. I have 40 file handles, 20 buffers, and about 64 handles for fastopen (DOS).

If you have EMS memory, DR DOS 6.0 is suppose to use it to load stuff high or something like that (even in an 8088).
